Biography
“Pico” joined the club in November 2016 from arch-rivals Bohemians where he spent seven seasons. He made his debut there in 2010 and captained Bohs in 2016.
Now a firmly established fan-favourite, Pico has improved with each passing year since then. He was deservedly chosen by the fans as 2020 Player of The Year.
A strong presence in the air, he established himself as a goal threat, particularly in European competitions. A chorus of ‘Pico Lopes’ can frequently be heard ringing out around Tallaght Stadium. Having been recognised as a real defensive asset, Pico now regularly represents his father’s native Cape Verde in international competition, becoming the most-capped League of Ireland player ever.
