Shamrock Rovers Football Club today announces that Aidan Price, the Director of Academy Coaching, will be leaving the club to join the Football Association of Ireland (FAI) in a new capacity.
Aidan has been an integral part of Shamrock Rovers, both as a player and a coach. His contribution to the club has been invaluable, and his leadership has been instrumental in the development of our academy players. Aidan’s journey with Shamrock Rovers began in 2006 as a player, where he played a pivotal role in the team’s success, including winning both the League of Ireland title First and Premier Division titles. He transitioned to a coaching role in 2016 and has overseen the development of a number of number of key players within the club. All at the club wish Aidan well in his new role with the FAI.
Simon Friel, who joined the club in March 2024 as Director of Academy Operations from Carlisle United, will now assume the position of Academy Director within Shamrock Rovers. Simon has made significant progress with the implementation of several operational procedures since joining the club and we look forward to him building out the Shamrock Rovers Academy strategy over the coming months and years ahead.
