Shamrock Rovers Football Club confirms the transfer of Freddie Turley to English FL Championship club Derby County F.C.
Freddie joined the Hoops in June, 2021 having previously played for Bray Wanderers AFC and before that St. Joseph’s AFC. He played much of the time with the SRFC Academy in the number 6 position but proved to be a versatile performer as a central or wide defender as well as an attacking midfielder.
He was with the Under 15 team in his first year along with Cory O’Sullivan, John O’Sullivan and Cian Dillon amongst others. Originally from Bray, Co. Wicklow – his family later on moved to Rathfarnham – Freddie also played for the Hoops at Under 17 and Under 19 levels.
This year Freddie has been on loan with First Division side Bray Wanderers. During his time with Shamrock Rovers he played for the Republic of Ireland at Under 15, Under 16, Under 17 and Under 19 levels. He captained Ireland at the UEFA Under 17 Championship Finals in Hungary in 2023. Freddie was a student on the Shamrock Rovers-Ashfield College Education Programme.
We thank Freddie for all his efforts during his time at Shamrock Rovers and wish him all the best at Derby County F.C.
