Everyone must have been disappointed coming away from Richmond Park on Friday. Did you feel our performance deserved a result?

Yes, I felt that we deserved to win on the night, and when I watched it back, I felt the same way. I thought that we were very good, created a lot of opportunities, played well, and looked like we were getting back to our levels. Sometimes it just happens that you don’t get the result, but really happy with the performance

Rory, Danny and Ronan all had chances. Was it those first half opportunities especially we were left to rue?

We could have finished the game and it would have been over by halftime. Even in the second half we had chances, Andy Lyons had two, Barry Cotter and Sean Hoare had headers. Just throughout the game we didn’t take our chances, but if we produce that every week and keep building on that, the results will look after themselves.

Pats scored the only goal of the game from that set piece and then we chased an equaliser. Was there anything in particular you wished was better in defence and attack?

The first 15 minutes of the second half was an even game, it was probably their best spell, and then we took over the game again. Their goal was disappointing, very rarely do we concede like that, but we did on Friday and it’s cost us points.

What do you make of Bohs so far this season?

Having watched their last few games, they’ve done well. We know that they’ll bring a different game to us than in their previous games, so we have to respect that and be ready for them.

The team will be looking to bounce back now and it’s there’s nothing like a derby for added motivation is there?

Another derby to look forward to, and another massive crowd in Tallaght which is brilliant to see. And like I said, we’ll just focus on what we do, bring that level again, go a little bit more and the result will look after itself.

The game sold out days beforehand and no doubt the atmosphere will be electric. Do you expect the players will relish the big occasion?

Yes, I’m sure that they will. We’ve come from a sold-out Dublin Derby last weekend to another sold-out Derby this weekend. They are the type of games that you want to be around and involved in; they get you excited. It’s great to see that we’re playing in front of sold-out crowds every week.

Are Sean Kavanagh and Neil Farrugia any nearer to returning and there are any other doubts?

Both have trained and look ok, and we’ll see how they go. A few other knocks, but nothing that we need to worry about
