We were frustrated with the 0-0 draw last Friday against UCD in Belfield. Having seen the game back, are you still happy overall with our performance despite not managing to get a goal given our dominance or was there anything we could’ve done differently to secure all three points?

“Having watched the game back, I think a lot of the performance was really good. The one crucial part is putting the ball in the net, that we didn’t do on the night. We certainly had enough chances to do that. But as I said, a lot of the performance was really good. Yes, we’re frustrated as we wanted three points but happy with large parts of the performance so we take the point and move on.”

Shelbourne are the opponents at Tallaght Stadium this weekend. We’ve had a 0-0, 1-1 and 2-2 with them so far this season and this time last year and that key and thrilling 3-2 win when Rory scored with the last kick of the game. A big test is in store for us.

“We’ve just got to go and perform the way we have been the last while. I think our performances have been really good, apart from little spells here and there, we’ve been really good. So we’ve got to stay there and get our performance levels. We know if we do that, nine times out of ten, it’s enough to win the game. We know Shelbourne will be a difficult opponent, we know they’re well-organised and they work extremely hard for each other. They have some good players in there as well so it’s going to be a difficult game. But we also know if we hit our performance levels, as I said, nine times out of ten it’ll be enough to win games.”

Did everyone come out of the UCD game ok and are last week’s injured players back in contention this week?,

“Everyone came out of the UCD game well, there were one or two little knocks but nothing major. Lee Grace and Seán Kavanagh had minor knocks last week but they’re good this week. Johnny Kenny is back, he trained all week after his Ireland under-21 injury so he’s back this weekend.”
