Shamrock Rovers F.C confirms that Abbie Larkin has accepted a transfer deadline day offer to join Scottish WPL club Glasgow City FC.
Abbie signed for the Hoops on December 22nd last year and started the 2023 season with the new Shamrock Rovers Women’s Premier Division team.
Abbie has been a mainstay in the side this year, playing all 15 league games and 1 Cup appearance. The team is undefeated in all bar one of the 16 games played in league and Cup so far this season.
Her first goal for Rovers was against Bohemians in a 4-0 win in Tallaght last April. She has scored 5 goals for the Hoops this season and also scored 4 goals in the Cup including a hat trick vs Killester-Donnycarney FC on her comeback from the World Cup last month.
Abbie made a number of International appearances for Ireland in her time at Rovers before joining the senior women’s International squad bound for the World Cup in Australia. She played in friendlies v’s China in February, v’s Zambia in June and v’s France in July.
Abbie made her World Cup debut off the bench at age of 18 years on 20th July 2023 vs Australia and played in the World Cup games vs Canada and Nigeria.
